Refill and Recycling

ecostore bottles are made from sugarcane plastic – a sustainable alternative to petroleum-based plastic. Sugarcane plastic is not compostable and does not biodegrade....it’s still plastic!

To give your empty bottles a second life we offer various refill options. Currently there are refill stations available at

  • Great Food Hall, Pacific Place
  • WWF Panda Shop, Tramway Path, Central
  • Awarestore, Kwun Tong

Refills at our showroom in Wong Chuk Hang are available by appointment only. Please get in touch to find out more. ecostore@shawganic.com.

If a refill is not possible or practical you can return empty ecostore bottles to us – rinsed, clean and dry. These will be shredded at a local recycling plant to make raw material for new bottles. We are currently setting up drop off points. The stores listed below are already part of our programme. When you are ordering products for delivery from us directly we can pick up your empty ecostore bottles at the same time. Or you can drop them off outside our warehouse gate at

11C Block 1, Kingley Industrial Building, 35 Yip Kan Street, Wong Chuk Hang

Lastly, a word about our packaging when we ship your order. Generally we use our own team of drivers who will carefully deliver your products without the need for extra packaging. We never use any new packaging material. Instead we reuse our own ecostore cartons or other pre-used material available to us, usually from neighbouring printing workshop! If we occasionally use the services of a courier company we do not have full control over the handling of the parcels and packaging needs to be a bit more sturdy. Some courier companies require that liquids are additionally wrapped with a plastic bag to avoid any potential leaking. We keep this to an absolute minimum and use environmentally friendly bags.

Please reuse our packaging where possible or dispose of it responsibly through your local recycling programme.
